After a two-year stop due to the pandemic, the celebrations for the co-patron saint of Florence, San Lorenzo, return on August 10th.
According to tradition, in the morning the historical procession of the Florentine Republic will parade through the streets of the centre, reaching the basilica of San Lorenzo for the ritual candle offering, which will be followed by the liturgical celebration presided by the Archbishop of Florence.
In the evening a popular festival in the parvis and around the church: music, dancing and, as usual (from 9pm), free distribution of penne pasta with ragù sauce and watermelon for everyone.
Remember to look at the sky and make a wish for every shooting star we hope to see!
The event is organised with the collaboration of the Central Market, the San Lorenzo Natural Shopping Centre, Confcommercio and Confesercenti
