Palazzo Vecchio, Salone dei Cinquecento

Go to the museum on the first Sunday of the month.

As usual, the first Sunday of the month (the next one being October 6) can be an opportunity to visit one or more museums for free.
Access to state museums will be free for everyone, Italians and foreigners, thanks to the ministerial initiative "Sunday at the Museum."

So, doors will be open for free in Florence to numerous museums, starting with: the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery, the Medici Chapels, the Pitti Palace complex and Boboli Gardens, the Archaeological Museum, and the Medici villas of Castello and Petraia.

For all the details, consult the dedicated section, divided by Regions and Provinces, of "Sunday at the Museum."

Another initiative, aimed only at residents of the Metropolitan City of Florence, is the “Metropolitan Sunday “ which includes free admission and a series of activities (also for families and children) in civic museums, among others. Consult the dedicated page to the "Metropolitan Sunday" on the MusE website.

The same day free admission only for residents of the Metropolitan City to the complex of Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo). Every first Sunday of the month, in fact, it is possible to visit 3 monuments (the Baptistery, the Crypt of Santa Reparata, and the Opera del Duomo Museum); on the same day, you just need to pick up the "Giglio Pass" at one of the ticket offices: Piazza San Giovanni, in front of the Baptistery, or at Piazza Duomo 14a.
