Provocative and controversial, the American pop artist Jeff Koons is coming to Palazzo Strozzi with Shine,
an exhibition focussed on the shiny materials used and symbolised by its iconic masterpiece: Rabbit (1986). This selection of artworks is the result of an ongoing collaboration between the artist and the exhibit's
curators Arturo Galansino and Joachim Pissarro and covers a period from the mid-1970s to the present day.
During his artistic career Jeff Koons has experimented with different, unconventional techniques and materials, such as inflatable balloons, metals, pigments and plastic resins. This exhibition, featuring works of art from from collections and museums of international importance, discloses the concept of Shine as playing on the ambiguity of meaning between splendour and appearance.
The exhibition will take place in Palazzo Strozzi from 2 October to 30 January.
