After a long period of lockdown due to the pandemic, museums in Florence are finally open now! They guarantee all the measures and safety precautions prescribed by law.
For the most visited museums such as Uffizi & Galleria dell'Accademia, Palazzo Pitti, the reservation is mandatory on Saturday, Sundays and holidays. It is not necessary for the other State Museums: Bargello, Medici Chapels, Palazzo Davanzati, Museo Archeologico, Opificio delle Pietre Dure & Boboli Garden.
Among the Civic Museums, Palazzo Vecchio, Brancacci Chapel, Museo Novecento, Museo Stefano Bardini, Museo del Ciclismo) started welcoming visitors on April 28. And many other places of interest have already reopened their doors like Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Galileo Museum, San Marco, Dante’s House, Spedale degli Innocenti, Marino Marini, and Stibbert Museum.
Among the churches, tourists can visit again Santa Maria del Fiore Complex (including Dome, Giotto Tower, Baptistery and Opera del Duomo Museum), and the churches of: Santa Croce, Santa Maria Novella, San Lorenzo, Santo Spirito.
