From June 24 to October 8, Forte Belvedere is going to reopen for a new important contemporary exhibition: “Melma” by Nico Vascellari.
Forte Belvedere, the Medici fortress dominating the city from the top of Boboli Garden’s hill, has reopened and is accessible for free. On the ramparts and inside the Palazzina it’s possible to admire the site-specific artworks realized by Nico Vascellari.
The exhibition - featuring sculptures, videos, sound installations, collages and performances - revolves around the relationship between Humankind and Nature, between existence and transcendence; after October 3, these artworks are going to be moved to some iconic places in the city center (Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and Museo Novecento), where they will be dialoguing with historical monuments.
Sergio Risaliti, director of Museo Novecento, is curating the exhibition, which is promoted by the Municipality of Florence and organized by Mus.e Association.
