Firenze on Stage is a jazz, classical and contemporary music festival scheduled from 12 September to 14 December in the splendid setting of the Niccolini Theatre in Florence.
Celebrated actor Jeff Goldblum in the role of jazz musician with his Mildred Snitzler Orchestra, a band founded 30 years ago and with a rich concert repertoire behind it, will perform two concerts on 20 and 21 September at the Niccolini Theatre in Florence.
These performances will feature Goldblum on piano, John Storie on guitar Alex Frank on bass, Joe Bagg on organ, Scott Gilman and James King on saxophone, Ryan Shaw on drums and Tawanda as vocalist
Written by Jonathan Guy Lewis and Jasper Rees and based on Jasper Rees' best seller, this one-actor theatre musical puts the transformative power of music centre stage.
Recycled objects become the instruments of a real orchestra, Tetraktis percussion, with a repertoire ranging from modern and contemporary music (John Cage, Steve Reich) to popular music from the world.
