From 20 October 2022 to 26 Ferbuary 2023 Villa Bardini celebrates Elliott Erwitt with the exhibition Photographs, a retrospective of his career. The most famous shots of his work will be on display, such as portraits of film stars and powerful people: the exhibition traces the history and customs of the 20th century, immortalising the characters in their intimate humanity.
Exhibition promoted by Fondazione CR Firenze and Fondazione Parchi Monumentali Bardini e Peyron, curated by Biba Giachetti, with the coordination of Melissa Camilli and Francesca Lanuara, in collaboration with Sudest57.
Around seventy shots, selected by Ewitt himself, will be on display: masterpieces born from work situations, personal, casual and family research. On show will be, among others, the famous portraits of Che Guevara, Kerouac, Marlene Dietrich, Jackie Kennedy at her husband's funeral, or the quarrel between the two leaders Nixon and Khrushchev, and the famous shots of Marilyn Monroe, undisputed icon of the short century.
