The Uffizi's most beautiful ancient statues are on display in the ground floor rooms of the Vasari Museum: in these large spaces, visitors will admire them up close, in all their beauty.The great exhibition Divina Simulacra. Masterpieces of Classical Sculpture from the Gallery is scheduled from 12 December 2023 to 30 June 2024.
Some of the Uffizi's most famous classical works will be displayed out of their historical locations, making masterpieces accessible in their most evocative details: among them the Venus of de' Medici, the Venus Aurea and the Caelestis, the Dancing Faun and the Seated Nymph, the Arrotine and the Hanging Marsyas, as well as the complete series of twelve ancient herms with portraits of Greek philosophers, athletes, poets and statesmen, originally intended by Ferdinand I to adorn the garden of the Villa Medici on the Pincio.
