Amerigo Vespucci Airport - open again from April 2, 2021 -is situated on the north-west outskirts of Florence, just 4 kilometres from the city centre. Easy to reach by tramway, taxis or car.
The public transportation system of the city offers a special and frequent tramway line from and to Florence Airport.
Since 2019, the new lTramway line T2 Vespucci connects the Central Train Station to the Vespucci airport. The T2 line to the airport costs 1,70 euro (as the city bus tickets); tickets can be purchased at the automatic vending machines at every stop. Tickets must be validated on the train and are valid for 90 minutes, it means that within this time you can also change and get on a city bus.
The tramway runs from 5 am to 00:30 am at night and to 2:00 am on weekends; trains are approximately every 5 minutes.
