Immerse yourself in the suggestive atmosphere of the Roman Theatre in Fiesole, hear the voices of the festive crowds in the Hall of the Five Hundred of Palazzo Vecchio or listen to the children playing, some centuries ago, in the courtyard of the Orphanage, Spedale degli Innocenti. All this, and much more, is possible today, thanks to the invaluable work of the Thematic Museum Network “Musei di Tutti” (Museums for all). The network was born in 2019 thanks to the collaboration of important museums in Florence and Fiesole (Archaeological Area and Museum, Bandini Museum and Primo Conti Museum in Fiesole, Palazzo Vecchio Museum, Stefano Bardini Museum, Museo Novecento and Museo degli Innocenti in Firenze).

The name of the project is Memorie Sonore (Sound Memories), and it is the result of months of contamination between museum experience and digital research, aimed at improving the accessibility and usability of the museums belonging to this Network. The project consists of virtual tours of high technological quality, by means of immersive visual and audio content, accompanied by 360° spherical photos, which allow visitors to approach art and history through narrations, original music compositions and soundscapes of the past and present.

The sound content, available in Italian and English, includes historical facts, information on the artworks, literary quotations, sounds and noises, narrating voices and original music, creating a continuous interplay between past and present. Not only images, but also a rich variety of sounds and comments to offer visitors a more comprehensive and more accessible experience.

This innovative and unique way of interpreting the heritage of these museums will ensure that it is always accessible and permanently open, in accordance with the principle that cultural heritage is significant only if it is fully accessible and shared by all.

Area Archeologica - Virtual Tour

Voices, sounds and noises, forgotten for centuries, are echoing once again in the Archaeological Area of Fiesole. The theatre comes back to life with mime performances from the 2nd century A.D.; the baths host athletic training sessions again and you can hear the water flowing in the gutters and tubs; the temple welcomes back to the passing of pilgrims and the chants of the faithful in procession...
