Ilya Grubert, soloist with the Florentine Chamber Orchestra

Perfection of sound, rigor, and extraordinary interpretive skills are the traits that have made Ilya Grubert famous worldwide, and which we will find again in the double concert on Sunday, October 19, and Monday, October 20, which will see him as soloist with the Fiorentina Chamber Orchestra at the Auditorium di Santo Stefano al Ponte in Florence. The founder and permanent conductor of the ensemble, Giuseppe Lanzetta, will take the podium.

Ilya Grubert will present Max Bruch's beloved “Concerto in G minor for violin and orchestra no. 1, op. 26” to the Florentine public, a piece of great compositional flair and melodic richness, one of the 19th-century masterpieces dedicated to the violin, in the wake of Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and above all Mendelssohn. The second part of the concert will be dedicated to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, with the poignant notes of the “Symphony ‘Pathetique’ in B minor No. 6, Op. 74.” There will also be a contemporary piece, the premiere of “Gate” by composer Giovanni Catelli.
