New Year's Eve 2026 in Florence

The event will begin at 9:00 pm and end at 1:00 am, unfolding in three main segments: an opening DJ set, a central live music show, and a closing DJ set. 

At the heart of the evening, a live musical performance will feature the artists taking turns on stage with sets of songs interspersed with moments of conversation and storytelling. The evening will be hosted by Leo Di Bello, a well-known face of Sky Sport.

In Piazza del Carmine, the spotlight will be on jazz with “Piazza del Carmine in Jazz”, organized by the Music Pool Association. From 10:30 pm to 12:45 am, the churchyard of the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine will become the stage for the Nico Gori Young Lions group, joined by a special guest: Fabrizio Bosso, one of the most acclaimed trumpeters on the international scene.

It will be an evening dedicated to swing and bebop, blending American tradition, original compositions, and forays into Brazilian music, for a New Year’s Eve that celebrates the quality and variety of musical languages. Two events designed to engage both residents and visitors, highlighting music as a means of connection and celebration. Admission is free, subject to availability

In Piazza Santissima Annunziata, under the Loggia of the Ospedale degli Innocenti, the spotlight will be on the concert “Gospel Symphony – Florence Sings the New Year,” presented by the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina. This event brings together the power of gospel voices and the elegance of chamber music, set within a Renaissance setting of extraordinary beauty.

On stage from 10:30pm  to 1:00am, two outstanding choirs—the Pilgrims Gospel Choir and the Light Gospel Choir—will take turns performing alongside the orchestral ensemble, offering a musical journey from a cappella spirituals to traditional and contemporary gospel, culminating in surprising pop/rock reinterpretations. A great sonic embrace to welcome the new year with energy, joy, and a spirit of togetherness.

Finally, a countdown will also take place in Piazza della Signoria, where, close to midnight, spectators will be able to witness a spectacular countdown projected onto the façade of Palazzo Vecchio, together with the artistic videomapping of Florence Lights Up, curated by Fondazione MUS.E.
