The Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili, internationally renowned as the “Flying Georgians,” will perform on March 25 at the Teatro Cartiere Carrara in Florence. Founded in 1945, the ensemble is celebrated for its spectacular choreography, overwhelming energy, and technical precision, with dancers and musicians accompanied by a live orchestra featuring traditional Georgian instruments. The show combines folklore, virtuosity, and stage power, featuring male acrobatics and ethereal female movements, as well as costumes that have also influenced the world of fashion. With over 20,000 performances in more than 100 countries, the ballet has helped bring Georgian dance to the global stage.
