On 15 October 2026 at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, the concert Holst – The Planets will be performed by the Maggio Orchestra, conducted by Aziz Shokhakimov. The programme is dedicated to The Planets, Gustav Holst’s celebrated orchestral suite composed between 1914 and 1916. Each movement represents a planet and evokes its symbolic character through orchestral colours, rhythms and evocative atmospheres. The concert offers a fascinating musical journey through the different personalities associated with the planets, from the solemnity of Mars to the mysterious and contemplative world of Neptune, in one of the most spectacular and beloved compositions of the 20th-century symphonic repertoire.
