On November 1st, 2026, the Day of the Dead will be celebrated in the heart of Florence!

A spectacular parade filled with vibrant colours and traditional elements, accompanied by live music from the Mariachi band “El Magnífico”, will set off at 11:00 AM from Piazza Santa Croce, winding its way through the streets of the city centre before reaching Piazza Santa Maria Novella.

A free face-painting service featuring Catrin and Catrina makeup will be available at the meeting point from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A special opportunity to come together and experience the beauty of Mexican culture! Participation is completely free of charge.

The event is organised by the Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Florence.

To have your face painted as a Catrina or Catrín before the parade, advance booking is required at Ristorante Finisterrae, Piazza di Santa Croce, 12 (scan the QR code on the Instagram page to register).

The makeup artist will be waiting for you from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM to get you ready and share the magic of Mexican tradition! Advance booking is mandatory!
