The museum is in the Canonica of San Pietro in Bossolo, a Romanesque parish church with a nave and two side aisles divided by simple pillars, with an adjoining cloister. The museum houses the majority of the local religious art heritage, including paintings, liturgical furnishings and paraments from the 13th-18th centuries. Particularly noteworthy are a Madonna and Child attributed to Lorenzo di Bicci, from the end of the 14th century, and a series of six panels painted by Neri di Bicci in the 1470s. There are also some fine gold and silver items, reliquaries, liturgical vestments and a collection of ex votos. Also on display are some pieces of Tavarnelle embroidery, a traditional local art.
