The Palazzo Pretorio, or Palace of the Vicar, was built between 1117 and 1164, then enlarged and modified during the XV° century. The red brick facade is decorated with crests of the old Governors of Florence: two of them are by the Della Robbia's Workshop. Among the paintings of the museum, dating XV° and XVI° century, is the Tabernacle of the Executed, frescoed by Benozzo Gozzoli; one section of the exhibit is dedicated to Etruscan and Roman remains.
