The bookshop opened in 1995 in the heart of Florence in a 13th-century tower, a twenty-square-metre studio with carpets, parquet flooring, lots of wood around and books on the walls. Paolo Sacchi started out as a collector, he is a great expert on Florence and Tuscany, but in his charming little studio you can also find incunabula, manuscripts, Bibles, maps, prints, local history, 16th century books, illustrated books, classics, and small antiques. The bookshop is an associate of A.L.A.I. (Associazione Librai Antiquari d'Italia - Association of Antiquarian Booksellers of Italy). Today it is located in the new and larger premises in Via Lambertesca and is run by Franco Cioncolini, son-in-law of the founder Paolo Sacchi.
