San Lorenzo a Diacceto parish church

The Diacceto Church is already mentioned as a parish in 1073 under the name of Saint'Ierusalem.
Its importance is also recorded in the 12th century in the Statutes of the Municipality of Florence, but already at the beginning of the 15th century, when the San Clemente church in Pelago was raised to a parish church, the Diacceto one, already dedicated to Saint Lawrence, was in a state of ruin.

With the extinction of the Cattani da Diacceto family, it first passed hands to the Moresi family that gave it new splendour at the end of the 18th century, and later to the Marquis Leone Grolèe de Verville in the mid-19th century, who had the old building demolished and a new bigger one built in its place;
however the current appearance that we still see today is due to the reconstruction of the post war period that altered the inner and outer structures.
