Since 1822 Galleria Pietro Bazzanti has kept alive the traditional artisanal techniques of sculpture in bronze, marble and hard stone. Still today the gallery is a place of culture where artists and sculpture lovers meet along the Arno, in the heart of Florence. It hosts a collection of museum-quality sculptures which cover the period between the 19th and 21st centuries. Next to precious 19th- and 20th-century marble works by artists and copyists who over the years have continued the work of Pietro and Niccolò Bazzanti, the gallery boasts a unique collection of sculptures in bronze, realised by the Ferdinando Marinelli foundry using the ancient technique of lost-wax casting. The bronze and marble works found here were produced from models from the foundry’s ‘treasure’, the plaster cast gallery of moulds taken from originals of classical and Renaissance masterpieces and 19th- and 20th-century sculptures.

Galleria Pietro Bazzanti further offers refined reproductions in alabaster and hard stone, in addition to sculptures and fountains in pietra di Vicenza, the same material used by Canova for the execution of his sculpture group Orpheus and Eurydice. Pietra di Vicenza is suitable for outdoor works, given that it hardens over time. The gallery also contains carefully executed miniatures, exquisite pieces for decorating indoor spaces, such as pietra dura mosaic tables and furnishing accessories. In addition to artwork sales, the gallery offers a service for designing and executing sculptures and furnishings for interior and exterior spaces, such as personalised basins, fountains, sculptures and castings. Galleria Bazzanti is able to conceive and realise any request and also handle on-site placement and mounting operations.
