FirenzeArt opened its doors in Florence in November 1999 as the evolution of the Laboratorio Artigiano Cornici di San Frediano, the producer of artisanal picture frames which for over 30 years has been a place for meeting and exchange for the best Italian and foreign artists, as well as for members of the general public who have shown increasing interest in the field. The aim of creating a qualified workshop in which to propose and rediscover works of great contemporary masters has always gone hand-in-hand with the wish to promote and make known emerging artists. The spacious, functional premises of the new location in Piazza T. Gaddi in Florence hosts a very large selection of paintings, prints and artisanal frames, in addition to offering the chance to host solo exhibitions. The ‘Galleria Virtuale’ project dates to 1997, when the Internet was just beginning to make its presence felt in Italy; it is indeed one of the first significant initiatives on the national level for the promotion of contemporary art online.

Today the prestigious website is an important resource for the exposure of over 1,000 artists, including Alinari, Annigoni, Berti, Bettarini, Bianchini, Borgianni, Cappello, Chiari, Domenici, Faraoni, Fattori, Filippelli, Ghiglia, Guttuso, Lastraioli, Maccari, Marma, Marsili, Martini, Nativi, Scatizzi, Schifano, Signorini, Squillantini, Talani and Tirinnanzi. FirenzeArt organises important exhibitions while continuing its traditional work of producing and finishing classical and modern frames, which can be purchased or custom ordered. On the strength of modern technologies and skilled personnel, the gallery also realises prints on canvas with great pictorial effect, whether of exclusive reproductions or personalised images.
