Thousand-year old Fair of San Luca

The latest edition of the thousand-year-old San Luca Fair in Impruneta, one of the most eagerly awaited and cherished events for the Impruneta community, will begin on Saturday 10 October 2026. The event is organised by the San Luca Fair Association under the patronage of Impruneta Town Council. For nine days, until Sunday 18 October 2026, the town will come alive with markets, exhibitions, shows, cultural initiatives, sporting events, street food, the traditional funfair and numerous activities dedicated to promoting local traditions.

The event will kick off on Saturday 10 October 2026 with the opening of the Street Food market in Piazza Garibaldi, the inauguration of the Luna Park, the 53rd Traditional San Luca Exhibition – organised by the Art Art Impruneta Association – and the 24th edition of the “Mario Gori” National Poetry Prize. The evening will conclude with the screening of the celebratory video “100 Years of the Festival”, produced by the Ente Festa dell’Uva, on the façade of the Basilica.

Among the most significant events are the traditional “Fierone” on Tuesday 13 October 2026, featuring the Livestock Fair and the transhumance display, the round-table discussion on “Food and Health”, the fashion show organised by the Il Pozzo Natural Shopping Centre, and the traditional fireworks display scheduled for Thursday 15 October. There will also be art exhibitions, permanent displays, classic car rallies, nature walks, cultural events and competitions between the neighbourhoods.

The San Luca Fair has always been an important occasion for people to come together, socialise and showcase the region’s finest produce, establishing itself as one of the most iconic historic events in Impruneta and the Florentine Chianti area. It is an event that brings together tradition and community, engaging residents, organisations and visitors in a rich programme of activities dedicated to culture, local identity and conviviality. The full programme for the event is available on the Impruneta Town Council website
