National Day of the Italian Historic Houses Association - Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane
Special Openings, tours and workshops
On Sunday, May 24th, 2026, the National Day of the Italian Historic Houses Association (Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane ETS) returns for its 16th edition. More than 450 exclusive sites—including castles, fortresses, villas, parks, and gardens—will be open to the public free of charge, offering an immersive journey into history that still defines Italy’s identity worldwide and could serve as a cornerstone for its long-term sustainable development.
Numerous historic residences will be open throughout Tuscany, with many in and around Florence. Among them are Palazzo Antinori (home to the renowned wine cellar), Palazzo Ginori, Palazzo Frescobaldi, and the Torrigiani Garden, as well as Palazzo Gondi in Piazza San Firenze, the Antica Torre Tornabuoni on the elegant Via Tornabuoni, Palazzo Ximenes Panciatichi (featuring works by Botticelli and Paolo Uccello), and Palazzo Capponi alle Rovinate, just steps from Ponte Vecchio. Beyond the city, must-see stops include the Medici Park of Pratolino, Villa Gamberaia in Settignano, the beautiful villas of Bivigliano and Corsini Le Mozzete, and the Castle of Barberino in the Mugello area.

The event is organized by the Italian Historic Houses Association in collaboration with the Houses of Memory Association.
