Mojgan Razzaghi – The Woman in Becoming: Twenty Years of Photography

Exhibitions

Starting Saturday, March 21, 2026, the exhibition Mojgan Razzaghi: The Woman in Becoming. Twenty Years of Photography will open at the Carriage Gallery of Palazzo Medici Riccardi, marking the artist’s first exhibition in Italy.

Mojgan Razzaghi, a photographer born in Tehran and based in Frankfurt, has been exploring the figure and condition of women for over twenty years. Her images, characterized by soft lighting and partial visibility of the body, challenge traditional representations and offer new reflections on identity and presence. The exhibition brings together several bodies of work, tracing the evolution of her artistic research over time.

On the day of the opening, there will be a meeting with the artist, and in the evening, a concert dedicated to the Iranian people will take place at the Sala del Buonumore of the L. Cherubini Conservatory of Music in Florence.

The day of the opening coincides with Nowruz, the Persian New Year marking the beginning of spring, placing the event within a broader symbolic moment of renewal, not only cultural.

At 5:30 PM, a meeting with the artist Mojgan Razzaghi will take place in the exhibition space, moderated by Dr. Giosuè Prezioso, writer and art critic. The discussion will focus on the artist’s practice as an Iranian woman in diaspora and on the evolution of her work over the past two decades between Iran and Europe.
