April 2026: what to see, events and itineraries in the surroundings
From the new exhibition on Art Deco to the suggestive Easter traditions and gardens in bloom. Everything you need to know to best experience this April All Around Florence.
Local traditions: the spectacular events of Easter
The first weekend of April 2026 is entirely dedicated to the unmissable Easter celebrations; a true spectacle for all types of visitors. Tasting the typical sweets of this period – the pan di ramerino and the quaresimali – or the inevitable crostini ai fegatini for those who prefer savory, we advise you to secure a spot to see with your own eyes the traditional events linked to Easter: kicking things off is, on the evening of Friday April 3, the powerful Reenactment of the Passion of Christ in Grassina, one of the oldest in Italy, with over five hundred figures who transform the small village just minutes from Florence. Easter Sunday, instead, is the day of one of the most spectacular traditions in Florence: the flight of the colombina and theExplosion of the Chart in Piazza Duomo.
