International Women's Day with art in Florence

8 March is International Women's Day.

In Florence, there are many opportunities to enjoy places of art without spending money. Let's see where.
All the city's Civic Museums are free for women. These are the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio, with Torre di Arnolfo; the Complex of Santa Maria Novella, the Museo Novecento, the Museo Stefano Bardini, Brancacci Chapel, Fondazione Romano, and the Memoriale delle Deportazioni.
At the Museo di Palazzo Vecchio and at MAD (Murate Art District) visiting opportunities with focus on women of the past.

Palazzo Medici Riccardi, open to women free of charge from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., is also part of this attractive cultural offer.

Not to be missed the special offer for women of the State museums, which will be free of charge on 8 March. Some State Museums in Florence are real MUST SEES such as the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery, the museums of Palazzo Pitti, Museo San Marco, the Archaeological Museum, the San Salvi Museum.
Don't forget the Medici villas Petraia, Castello, and Cerreto Guidi, all free of charge.

Also Villa la Quiete, which is part of the Museums of the University of Florence, reopens its garden for free on 8 March. The Villa was chosen by the women of the Medici family as their residence, and is therefore particularly 'theme related'.
