Corri la vita!

Corri la vita is one of the most popular non-competitive races in Florence. Its purpose is charitable - the proceeds go towards breast cancer prevention - and the route, which winds through the centre of Florence, can obviously be run but also walked. There are in fact two versions: the 10-kilometre run and the 4-kilometre walk.

Thousands of participants are expected on the last Sunday of September—falling on the 27th this year—wearing the event's signature cyclamen-pink T-shirt designed by Salvatore Ferragamo.

As with every edition—this marks the twenty-fourth—the race is accompanied by a cultural program. Participants will have the opportunity to visit many of Florence's iconic landmarks, as numerous cultural sites will be open to the public free of charge. Highlights include the "Broken: The Power of the Fragment" exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi, the Restoration Museum (including the Palazzo Ridolfi Chapel), the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno, the Museo della Misericordia, the Accademia dei Georgofili, the "Open" exhibition in the restored spaces of Palazzo Buontalenti, and the Anconella water treatment plant—the true heart of Florence's water system.

Registration is mandatory and opens on September 1st; the event starts at 9:15 AM on Viale Lincoln in the Cascine Park and finishes in Piazza della Signoria.
