Corri la vita is one of the most popular non-competitive races in Florence. Its purpose is charitable - the proceeds go towards breast cancer prevention - and the route, which winds through the centre of Florence, can obviously be run but also walked. There are in fact two versions: the 10-kilometre run and the 4-kilometre walk.
Participants can be recognised by the sea of T-shirts, all the same colour, which this year is blue
On Sunday, 28 September, as in all previous editions – and we are now in our 23rd year – the race will be accompanied by a cultural programme: participants will have the opportunity to visit many iconic sites in Florence free of charge, such as the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Palazzo Vecchio Museum, the Santa Maria Novella Museum, the Novecento Museum, the Forte di Belvedere, the Stibbert Museum, the Hzero Museum and others.
Among this year's destinations, Palazzo Strozzi deserves a special mention with its exhibition Beato Angelico and the Church of San Salvatore al Vescovo in Piazza dell'Olio.
Registration is mandatory; departure at 9.15 am from the Cascine Park.
