Florence and Tuscany are all about cinema! The "50 Days of Cinema" are back, the "Festival of Festivals": from October 5th to December 12th, Florence will host 9 predominantly international film festivals, mainly at the Teatro della Compagnia, with the introduction of the new "Italian Rising Stars" Award. Here is the detailed calendar for the 2023 edition:

From October 18th to 22nd – Florence Queer Festival, showcasing Queer stories and culture against stereotypes.
From October 28th to November 1st – France Odeon, a premiere of the best French cinema in Florence.
From November 4th to 12th – Festival dei Popoli. The historic International Documentary Film Festival.

The closing day will be dedicated to the first edition of the Italian Rising Stars Award, a new initiative in collaboration with the Accademia del Cinema Italiano Premi David di Donatello, aimed at young actors and emerging stars of Italian cinema.

This edition, significantly enriched with photography exhibitions, book presentations, conferences, and meetings with actors and directors, is part of the "Three-Year Cinema Project," also made possible thanks to funding from the Ministry of Tourism (for the enhancement of Great Italian Destinations for Sustainable Tourism) and the contribution of local institutions. It is carried out under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Municipality of Florence, the Tuscany Region, Fondazione Sistema Toscana, Fondazione CR Firenze, and the Chamber of Commerce.
