50 days of cinema in Florence

Florence and Tuscany in full cinema! The 50 Days of Cinema, the "Festival of Festivals", is back: from October 2 to December 13, 2024, as many as nine film festivals with an international vocation, including retrospectives, short-length films, animations and documentaries, will be concentrated in Florence at the Teatro della Compagnia.

Here is the calendar of the 2024 edition in detail:

•     Oct. 2 to 6 - FánHuā Chinese Film Festival, a window on contemporary China
•     Oct. 15 to 20 - Middle East Now, a cinematic journey through the contemporary Middle East
•     Oct. 29 to Nov. 1 - France Odeon, the best French cinema premiering in Florence
•     Nov. 2 to 10 - Festival dei Popoli. The historic International Documentary Film Festival
•     Nov. 13 to 17 - The Screen of Art Festival of cinema and contemporary art
•     Nov. 20 to 24 - International Women's Film Festival, a selection, all by women
•     Nov. 27 to Dec. 1 - Florence Queer Festival, Queer stories and culture against all stereotypes
•     Dec. 5 to 10 - River to River Florence Indian Film Festival, a look at Indian cinema of the past and present.

As part of the N.I.C.E. Award, a review dedicated to the most recent Irish cinematography will be presented.

The final day, Dec. 13, will be dedicated to the second edition of the Italian Rising Stars Award, an initiative desired and realized in collaboration with the Accademia del Cinema Italiano Premi David di Donatello: an award aimed at rising stars of Italian cinema. The event will be held significantly at the Bargello Museum, where Donatello's famous bronze David is preserved.
