On Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15, 2025, the semifinals of Florentine Historical Football will be held: on Saturday the Reds of Santa Maria Novella will take on the Blues of Santa Croce, while on Sunday the Whites of Santo Spirito will face the Greens of San Giovanni (as usual, the final will be played on June 24, the Feast of St. John the Baptist). Calcio storico is perhaps the best-known folk tradition in Florence.
The match will take place as always on the sandy ground of Piazza Santa Croce (starting at 6 p.m.) and will be preceded by impressive and scenic historical parades through the streets of the center.
