Pratolino Medici Park, open to visitors!

Reopening from May 28 to October 31, Pratolino Medici Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site, located 20 minutes’ drive from the city center.

Francesco I de’ Medici commissioned his architect Bernardo Buontalenti to design the villa – later demolished - and the gardens (garden of marvels) to please himself and his mistress Bianca Cappello. The property passed to the Lorena Dynasty who redesigned the gardens in the style of the time and finally to a Russian Family, the Demidoff.

Now the Park is public property (Città Metropolitana di Firenze – Metropolitan City of Florence) and it is still appreciated as a unique place to discover, where environment and nature combine with history and art.

The Park is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 8pm (October: 10am-6pm). On holidays it is open to visitors at the same hours. Admission is always free.
