Visit Santa Croce behind closed doors

Visit Santa Croce behind closed doors

Santa Croce offers visitors new ways to experience the site, extending its opening hours and providing the unique opportunity to access the complex outside of regular public hours.

Private visits can be arranged at 8:30 AM or at 7:00 PM. The staff is available to tailor the experience with cultural insights and alternative routes, guided by art historians and customized to specific interests. Guided tours are optional and available in multiple languages.

The visit begins in the basilica, where stained glass windows cast multicolored patterns on stunning 14th- and 15th-century frescoes. Along the aisles are the monumental tombs of the Great Italians who shaped history. Visitors can admire exquisite 16th-century altarpieces and timeless works of art. The “journey” continues in the tranquility of the monumental cloisters, the architectural perfection of the Pazzi Chapel designed by Brunelleschi, and the ancient Refectory, where masterpieces by Donatello and Vasari await.
