Christmas atmospheres in Florence

During this festivity period Christmas 2025 Florence presents itself at its best, with special atmospheres, events and attractions for everyone, citizens and visitors alike.

The first event on the calendar is the unmissable Weihnachtsmarkt, or Christmas market, held in Piazza Santa Croce from 15 November to 21 December.
This is a true tradition for the city, with exhibitors, mainly from Northern Europe, displaying delicacies, Christmas decorations, winter clothing and handicrafts at their stands.

The return of the 55-metre-high Giant Wheel to its location in the Giardino della Vasca at the Fortezza da Basso is also confirmed. It will be accompanied by an ice rink, creating a complete winter atmosphere.

We are also looking forward to the Festival of Lights, which usually begins on 8 December. We will provide further details as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the most iconic locations are getting ready: Via Tornabuoni with its spectacular decorations, La Rinascente decked out in thousands of lights.

A few kilometres from Florence, in the town of Signa, another Christmas market is scheduled for the end of November. Waiting for Christmas takes place on 30 November.
