The museum adjoining the medieval Church of Santo Stefano al Ponte contains art works and other items of historic interest from buildings belonging to the diocese of Florence. There are a number of 14th-century gold-ground panel paintings, including a fine Madonna and Child by Giotto from the Church of San Giorgio alla Costa. Other significant works are a predella with the Adoration of the Magi by Paolo Uccello and a Saint Julian by Masolino. Contemporary art exhibitions are held in the entrance courtyard.
