Founded in 1968 by the current management, Pananti Casa D’Aste has become a point of reference and meeting place for collectors, art critics, painters, sculptors, poets and writers. The auction house and gallery has been continuously involved in organising solo and collective exhibitions, auction sales for third parties and publishing activities. In over five decades of operations, Pananti has focused above all on supporting Italian art from the 19th and 20th centuries: it has hosted more than 300 exhibitions on its premises and published over 400 volumes (catalogues and monographs, as well as fiction, non-fiction and poetry series). It further holds painting and sculpture auctions, not only at its location in Florence but also in Sicily, Sardinia and Calabria during the summer months. Its publishing activities and exhibitions aim to promote public cultural events in towns and museums in Italy and abroad. Since 1999, Pananti has organised auctions for the sale of works of 19th- and 20th-century modern and contemporary artists.
