Centro Visite PARC

PARC

The Cascine Park is the green lung of Florence and PARC (Performing Arts research centre) is the heart of this park. Settled near Piazzale del Re, in the complex of the former Grand Ducal Stables, it is a nice place where to stop for a while and visit the centre, a laboratory of research and experimentation for new artistic languages and contemporary arts.

Here a Visitor Centre and a welcoming space with cafeteria are at your disposal to relax and practice a wide range of activities (workshop, laboratories) open air in the park or inside the centre.

The PARC project, experimenting various contemporary art languages, analyses the relationship with the territory and the interaction with public spaces, Cascine Park first. The project retraces the history of the park, which was born as the Medici family's agricultural estate and was occasionally opened to the public by the Lorraine family and permanently during the Napoleonic era.

Many of the architectures and works (mainly sports facilities) created at the Cascine Park were done in the spirit of bringing the citizens closer to this huge green space.

PARC presents an interesting calendar of activities just to let people know the Cascine Park better, or to let them discover it for the first time, during a holiday in Florence. Among these activities: walks and guided tours - retracing the relationship between the Florentines and the Cascine Park in a historical overview that goes from the Renaissance to the present day – or events based on aperitif, conference and final show where speakers and artists talk about specific issues related to sustainable development.

Please check information about PARC activities at the official website.
