I Renai di Signa

By bike along the Arno way, from the Cascine to the Parco dei Renai

Between Signa and Florence you can bike along an easy cycle path that, flanking the Arno river, connects the Cascine Park with the Renai Park in Signa

The cycle path is wide, on the dirt road and easily covered; furthermore it is suitable for everyone, including children.

The full route is about 11 km long, with small differences in height (a maximum height difference of 21 metres going uphill and of 29 going downhill). Starting from Florence, it winds from the Cascine Park, crosses Piazzale Vittorio Veneto, the Indiano Viaduct, the footbridge over the Mugnone river, passes under the A1 highway viaduct and then reaches Signa and the Renai Park.

Since April 2022 the cycle-pedestrian bridge that crosses the river Arno and connects the railway station of San Donnino (adjacent to the cycle path) with the village of Badia a Settimo, in the territory of Scandicci, is accessible. Therefore, it is possible to make a detour to visit the ancient Abbey of San Salvatore a Settimo, which is situated at a short distance.
