Immersed in a beautiful countryside, the parish church of Sant'Alessandro is located in the centre of an articulated building complex that also includes the company, the rectory with the cloister and various farm buildings that incorporate a medieval tower. The church, with a basilical plan, is divided into three naves and a semicircular apse; the bell tower has a square base and is flanked by the northern wall.
The external masonry is composed of limestone ashlars arranged in rows. The apse and side walls have Romanesque features and also the facade has the original wall face, with the openings and the tympanum that were made during subsequent interventions. Several construction phases can be seen in the bell tower, which is composed of the base, three orders of windows and the eighteenth-century belfry. The interior of the parish church today shows different characteristics, due to several interventions that have followed one another over time: Romanesque in the nave, late Baroque in the side aisles and in the chapels that flank the presbytery. The internal masonry of the nave is largely faceted, including the counter-façade and part of the presbytery. The side aisles are plastered and retain part of the Baroque decoration. The wooden trusses of the nave are exposed while the aisles are covered with plastered vaults. Under the slightly raised presbytery there is an underground crypt, dating back to the 11th century, which can be accessed by two small semicircular staircases on either side of the presbytery.
