Originally, in the 15th century, the villa belonged to the Dazzi, Federighi and Alessandri families. They enlarged the ancient residence with a ground floor, connected to the surrounding garden, and a first floor service. The property passed from family to family including the Contidella Gherardesca.Today's appearance is due to the Fiske family who created the colombaria, and after ups and downs it passed to the Spedale degli Innocenti i whose coat of arms, a bandaged child, still stands above the central portal. Today it is the seat of the Music School of Fiesole.
The Italian garden is on the south-west side, with symmetrical flowerbeds arranged around a central basin and a stepped greenhouse, on the south side the lemon house, which preserves some examples of bitter orange. Towards the west two columns with terracotta decorations overlooking the Florentine landscape.
