Galleria Moretti

Galleria Moretti

Active since: 1999
Areas of interest: Antique Italian paintings

Located in the city’s historic centre between Palazzo Strozzi and Santa Maria Novella, Galleria Moretti opened its doors to the important public and private collectors on 26 September 1999 with the inauguration of the exhibition From Bernardo Daddi to Giorgio Vasari, thus immediately indicating its specialisation in Italian – and especially Tuscan – painting from the early modern era. From the start of his business, Fabrizio Moretti has invited art historians and critics of international fame to collaborate on numerous quality publications, with the aim of bringing the achievements of the gallery and the fruits of its meticulous research to the attention of scholars and collectors. The gallery has participated in the most prestigious antiques fairs in Europe and the United States, including TEFAF (Maastricht, New York), Frieze Masters (London), the Florence International Antiques Fair at Palazzo Corsini and the Biennale des Antiquaires (Paris). The philanthropic activities which it has conducted over the years have made possible the publication of monographs on Italian painters as well as the creation of scholarships for students and researchers at Italian and foreign universities and foundations.
