Active since: 1974 Areas of interest: Antique paintings and drawings from the 14th to 18th centuries, with some attention devoted to the early 20th century
I was born in the shadow of Vesuvius in the previous century. I completed my apprenticeship in the field under the guidance of my father Vittorio. Beginning with my grandfather Enrico at the end of the 19th century, our family has always taken an interest in antique paintings. When I opened my gallery in the 1970s, I began investigating the world of drawings, which has always fascinated me – the artist’s first intuition before the final expression in a fresco or painting. Drawings are unique objects which reveal not only the artist’s calligraphy but also his/her genius and feelings., I became a member of the Italian Antiquarians Association (AAI) while still a very young man and have since served the organisation in various capacities: advisor, treasurer and then president, offices that I have held with passion and joy.
