Florence Biennale Art Gallery (formerly ‘Linea – Spazio Arte Contemporanea’ and ‘FB LAB mostre, eventi, formazione’) is the official gallery of the Florence Biennale, the exhibition of international contemporary art and design held every other year at the Fortezza da Basso. Visitors to the gallery can admire the works of internationally known artists, such as Sauro Cavallini, Giampaolo Talani, Franca Pisani, Flora Borsi, Marcio Pilot, Horia Manolache, Yasumichi Nakagawa, Liku Maria Takahashi, Carlos Araujo, Mario Pachioli, Vincenzo Calli and Michal Jacowski. It has hosted a number of solo and collective exhibitions, including Paper Reincarnations, Nourishing the Optic Soul | Nutrire l’Anima Ottica, Wessel Huisman – The Laws of Perspective, Overlooking Gardens, Il mio canto ha deposto ogni artificio, Io Solo Ho Occhi Per Te, Small Wonders, Carta – Common Ground and Unfolding Evolutions. In addition, the Florence Biennale Art Gallery contains a multi-functional, multi-faceted space that can host high-profile public and private events. Its facilities can indeed be adapted to accommodate a variety of needs, from book presentations to lectures, from professional workshops to training and educational sessions, and, of course, art exhibitions. The gallery is located in an area well served by public transport (tram, bus and train: it is indeed a mere 10-minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella rail station). It is close to the centre of Florence, though outside the restricted traffic zone, such that it is easily accessible by car as well.
