Castello di Acquabella

Acquabella Castle is a privately owned villa dating back to the late 19th century. This sumptuous and distinctive building initiated Saltino's fame as a holiday resort for Italian and European élites.
The villa-castle, by architect Corinto Corinti, is medieval in style according to the romantic taste of the period.
It refers to a picturesque architecture, which reveals a great movement of the building masses, but at the same time it already presents what will be the characteristics of Art Nouveau, that is to be a total work of art, where each decorative and functional element is related to the whole.

The Castello di Acquabella was commissioned by Count Antonino Pio Resse and his wife Elizabeth Woodbridge Phelps Pearsall during the period in which they lived between Florence, Rome and Saltino and was inaugurated in 1887.

The Castle is surrounded by a vast park.
