From 27 October 2023 to 4 November 2024, the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum is hosting the exhibition Salvatore Ferragamo 1898-1960, marking the centenary of the opening of the first shop in Hollywood.
The exhibition, curated by Stefania Ricci, retraces the life of the maison's founder and his work according to the themes that governed his activity: craftsmanship, research into materials (documented by no less than 368 patents!), a passion for colours, anatomical knowledge of the foot, and the exclusivity of the product as testified by the many models created for celebrities.
The exhibition itinerary recalls, 38 years later, the first retrospective exhibition on Ferragamo presented in 1985 at Palazzo Strozzi. Today's project represents a synthesis of the stages of Salvatore Ferragamo's life, an expression of the synergy between thought, inspiration and cultural values first expressed in the retrospective, generating precious food for thought over the years.
