Following the success of the previous editions of the Heritage Walks, the Florence World Heritage and UNESCO Relations Office of the City Council and MUS.E, with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism ‘UNESCO Sites and Creative Cities Fund’, present a new calendar of routes, starting on Saturday October 5th and scheduled every weekend of October.
The walks take place in the UNESCO area or in the area defined as the Core zone: this is the historic centre, within the circle of the ring roads, extended in 2021 to San Miniato al Monte. The free itineraries will lead citizens, as well as Italian and foreign visitors, to discover lesser-known areas of the historic center, suggestive architectures, views, and stories of Florence, and appreciate the beauty of the city center at sunset.
The walks are scheduled from October 5th to 27th with three different itineraries, starting from the 'limit' of the UNESCO zone, from what remains of the city walls: the towers, the gates, the fortresses. For each visit, one date with an Italian guide and another with an English guide will alternate, in order to make these interesting events available also to foreigners. The tours last two hours and are free of charge thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism ‘UNESCO Sites and Creative Cities Fund’.
The walks are aimed at young people and adults; they are completely free of charge and last two hours.
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and to bring water with you. They are suspended in the event of rain.
