Roberto Innocenti , the only Italian illustrator to receive the Hans Christian Andersen Award (2008), is the star of the exhibition at Palazzo Medici Riccardi from 22 February to 26 May.
The exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to delve into Innocenti's work between the 20th and 21st centuries through his illustrations that are rich in detail and innovative in their visual impact.
His unmistakable style, characterised by the perspective clarity typical of the Florentine tradition and a modern cinematographic vision, invites the reader to explore a world that seems more real than our own.
Over forty tables by the artist retrace the main stages of his work. His best-known and best-loved books will be retraced thanks to a series of masterful drawings, which the public will have the opportunity to observe and appreciate, offering themselves as tools for reflecting on the great themes traversed by both fairy tales and history.
