Apriti Cinema! The Open-air cinema - Summer 2025

From 16 June to 27 July Apriti Cinema, the film arena of the florentine summer, returns for the first time in the evocative setting of Piazza de' Pitti. Over 40 evenings of free admission, with screenings in original language and Italian subtitles. The event is curated by Cinema La Compagnia and organised by Quelli dell'Alfieri.

The programme includes art-house films, documentaries, shorts and fiction, selected from the international festivals of the 50 Days of Cinema in Florence festival. Among the most eagerly awaited appointments: tributes to Peter Sellers, Jack Lemmon and Paul Newman, a retrospective dedicated to Luca Guadagnino, an evening on Mexican cinema with a cult film by Iñárritu, and the Uffizi Galleries' mini-review on the relationship between man, art and nature.

The opening evening will feature Leonardo Pieraccioni, with a tribute to "I laureati" on the 30th anniversary of the film. There will also be many special events, such as a preview on Orson Welles and an evening dedicated to young Italian directors. An unmissable opportunity to experience cinema under the stars, in the heart of Florence.
