Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe degli Uffizi

Department of Prints and Drawings of Uffizi

The Cabinet of Drawings and Prints contains one of the most significant collections of graphic art in the world; begun around the middle of the 17th century by Cardinal Leopoldo de’Medici, it is still growing today. In all there are almost 120,000 drawings and prints dating from the end of the 14th century to the present day, with a prevalence of Renaissance and 17th-century works. Temporary exhibitions of graphic art are organized in the Sala di Esposizione.
