The Florence Short Film Festival, an international short film festival, will take place at Cinema La Compagnia from February 5th to 7th, 2026, featuring 21 short films in competition and numerous premieres from all over the world.
Every year, hundreds of filmmakers from across the globe submit their works to be selected and compete in the three categories Fiction, Animation, and Documentary, for both the Jury Prize and the Audience Award.
Starting from last year’s edition, the festival has also introduced the Fabrizio Borghini Special Prize, awarded to the short film that succeeds in reviving the historical or artistic memory of a place or a period, or that promotes messages of justice, equality, and freedom. For the occasion, Florentine artist SKIM — known for his pop and ironic style blending graffiti, painting, and illustration — will create an original artwork dedicated to the winning film.

Un film che affronta di petto il tema la violenza sulle donne e il trauma che questo lascia sulle vittime: una la cicatrice che segna dentro e che chiede vendetta.
In questo film protagonista è il potere maschile, la sua seduzione che va di pari passo con la sua violenza; un potere politico che non ammette rifiuti e non dà alle donne la possibilità di dire No.
Una storia di amore e affetti, stavolta senza proprietà e possesso. Di relazioni che restano dentro anche quando finiscono. L’amore, in un certo senso, non è mai sprecato. Si deposita e crea trame calde di rapporti umani, capaci di tenerezza.
Un film grazie al quale si parla dei padri. Della difficoltà di esserlo, di accettare la responsabilità di un’altra vita della quale prendersi cura. In un paesaggio desolato, una ragazza chiede di capire, pretende che le venga spiegato perché non è mai stata accettata e voluta. Un percorso che farà emergere la fragilità degli adulti.
