Here 3 itineraries by the City of Florence Guide Claudia Durante!

1. The first itinerary is a guided tour in Florence tracing places that have inspired Carlo Lorenzini, known as Collodi the author of Pinocchio Story. He was born and died in Florence, there are many links to Pinocchio characters and places in various districts of the city. Moreover, we can enter the new museum dedicated to 19th cent. toys, and a great collection of Pinocchio related items, historical publications translated by Collodi inspiring its Pinocchio fairy tale. Customized tours available, according to time and mobility needs. We could visit nearby towns such as Castello and Sesto Fiorentino, visit also Villa Petraia, part of Medici Villas Unesco sites. As well as, we could explore the modern Ginori ceramic showroom next to the old Richard-Ginori factory and other places where Lorenzini lived.

2. A second itinerary will take you through the narrow alleys of the historical center of Florence. Guide Claudia will tell you lots of stories, anecdotes, and curiosities about the Roman city Florentia, the Medieval times and the Renaissance in the city: every corner of the city hides precious gems. Strolling around town, we’ll learn a lot about artists such as Donatello, Brunelleschi, Michelangelo and more, as well as the illustrious members of the Medici dynasty. On request we can visit various important museums such as the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Dome, the glorious gothic churches like Santa Croce and Santa Maria Novella, Palazzo Vecchio, museum Bargello, Medici Palace and many more. If you love urban trekking we can walk along the Greenway path, to enjoy history, art and nature.

3. The third itinerary is a classic tour of the Uffizi Gallery! Nevertheless, there is something more: guests will be able to visit new spaces and see recently acquired paintings. Of course, we won’t miss out the greatest Renaissance masterpieces, but beside them we will have the time to appreciate paintings by Caravaggio, Tiziano, Pontormo and many others.
